10 Bloodline - the sensational Key West Florida based Shakespearean family saga!

9 Star Trek - the Original Series. This 1960s gem, often copied, never bettered!

8 The West Wing - the king of political drama series 7 Cheers! The Ted Random comedy masterpiece. You might watch an episode of two and not feel overwhelmed but stick with it and it becomes magical! 6 The Outer Limits! This magnificent series like the original star trek originates from the 1960s and is probably the greatest sci-fi series ever. Replete with ideas and just watch an episode like "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and be amazed and inspired! 5 House! An emotional tour de force by the British born actor Hugh Laurie and intricate scripts make this brilliant viewing! Who would have thought the lives of doctors would be so compelling? 4 Breaking Bad! This fairly recent series offers moral conundrums of incredible significance. Bryan Cranston as the dying lead, offers the great moral imperative of how far would you go to secure the wealth of your family, if you knew terminal disease was overwhelming you! Incredibly addictive and inspiring in a macabre way! 3 Picket Fences and Chicago Hope! Couldn't split these 1990s classics! David E Kelley is a brilliant writer and these shows inspired me with their warmth and likeability. The theme tune of Picket Fences with the piano intro is exquisite and Tom Skerrit and Kathy Baker are great. Hector Elizondo in Chicago Hope is the epitome of restrained, authoritative acting brilliance. These two series are not so easy to find any more so seek them out...you will be richly rewarded. 2 Law and Order - the original series! Forget the lame remakes and revel and cherish in the best legal series ever. The late Sam Waterston is one of my favourite TV actors ever (remember he was classically trained and a great stage actor) and the creator of the show, Dick Wolf has never bettered this series. As an afterthought, if you like this show check out the British remake which is ok but many notches below in quality. The original lasted 20 odd years and it's intelligence and humanity always inspires me! 1 Stranger Things! It's not the greatest series here. Law and Order probably takes that accolade, but I've never enjoyed watching anything more than gorging on multiple episodes last year, in the midnight hours with my fiancé Lena who is my co-collaborator on this site! A compulsively addictive Netflix show and features some of the finest child actors you'll ever see! And now three shows to avoid! 3 Game of Thrones! This is over hyped and distinctly brainless fare. Just because you have multiple characters and convoluted plots doesn't make it worthy. See the intellectual, far superior West Wing series to understand the machinations of power! Or see some classic Shakespeare movies! 2 Orange is the New Black! The writing is distinctly average, and like Game of Thrones the show might be "the opiate of the masses" but popularity doesn't equal quality! 1 Friends and Two and a Half Men! I can't pick which is worse. I had a flatmate a few years back who loved this asinine show. My flatmate was a nice guy but his watching this show and monopolising the TV to watch this rubbish made me discover quality TV elsewhere. And as for Two and a Half Men, how could it be good starring the morally depraved Charlie Sheen? Charlie is the son of the great Martin Sheen - hard to believe! Great television like great cinema encompasses great writing and fine acting! Any comments out there on our choices and your views!
